Leslie Gray & Andre Thornton

Leslie D. Gray was born in Brooklyn, New York, on October 30, 1963, and grew into adulthood in Bedford-Stuyvesant’s Jackie Robinson Apartments.  A graduate of Erasmus Hall High School, Leslie studied art and design and desired a career as a Marvel Comics artist, but eventually found his passion in the financial industry, business consulting, and photography.

Leslie met Andre Thornton when both were 14 years of age. Leslie noticed Andre carrying a stack of Marvel comic books and stopped Andre in his tracks, invited himself to Andre’s apartment, where both sat, read each book, and became lifelong best friends.

In 1993, Leslie envisioned owning a tee-shirt, comic book character, and graphic design company and founded Crossed Eyes Illustrations, LLC in 1994, with Andre Thornton and several close friends. The company’s first product was several original tee shirt designs based on cultural issues (i.e., AIDS awareness, Bullying, Black on Black Crime, etc.) and an original character names YAMOMS. In honor of Andre Thornton, Leslie decided to re-launch Crossed Eyes Illustrations, LLC in 2015.  Crossed Eyes now focuses on 1) creating original character designs and 2) developing multiple sales channels to deliver products to consumers based on our characters. Such tactics include licensing original characters to digital publishing companies, marketing tee-shirts and other products.

Now, Leslie and Andre’s creative legacy lives on in the pages of Dominion Publishing Enterprises, Inc. (http://dominionpublishing.com), a comic book publishing company, character domain.  Dominion Publishing is moving into the future of the comic publishing industry. The company’s vision is a new paradigm in graphic storytelling, taking the traditional science fiction/fantasy novel and combining them with the graphic storytelling of the future. Dominion’s Owner and Creative Director, a skilled graphic designer, imagery illustrator, and fearless businessman, leads his band of harden warriors into the great field of the comic book industry. Creator of Ravenous Redd and many other Dominion Publishing Enterprises titles, he stands as Dominion’s sentinel.
